Welcome to the Cottage: Where Flour Meets Fiber

Welcome, friends! I am so glad you found your way to my little corner of the internet.

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Tiffany. I’m writing this from my cottage-style home here in Florida (Zone 9b), likely with a cup of tea nearby and my dog, Walker, snoozing at my feet.

I started Nourish & Stitches because my life has always been a balance of two great loves: the warmth of the kitchen and the rhythm of the crochet hook.

The “Nourish” Journey

My journey with food changed forever in 2010 when I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. Suddenly, the kitchen became a place of navigation rather than just creation. I had to learn to live without gluten and soy (and eventually nightshades, too!), but in that process, I discovered something beautiful: restriction doesn’t have to mean a restricted life.

Now, I spend my days tending to my garden, gathering fresh eggs from my chickens, and cooking wholesome meals that keep my family safe and happy. This blog is where I’ll share those recipes—proof that “safe” food can still be comfort food.

The “Stitches” Legacy

When the dishes are done, you will almost always find me with yarn in my hands.

I have been a fiber artist for nearly four decades, using skills passed down to me by my grandmothers. Whether I am working on a complex pattern or a simple row of stitching, crochet is my way of slowing down time. It is how I rest, how I create, and how I add a little softness to the world.

What You Can Expect Here

Consider this blog a digital scrapbook of my days. I’ll be sharing:

* Gluten-free, soy-free recipes that actually taste good.

* Updates from the garden (and the chickens!).

* Current crochet projects and patterns.

* Musings on living a slower, handmade life.

My hope is that this space feels like a deep breath in a busy day—a place dedicated to weaving wellness into every bite and thread.

Thank you for stopping by the cottage. I can’t wait to share this journey with you.

Do you have a creative outlet that helps you slow down, like gardening or crafting? I would love to hear about it in the comments!

Warmly,
