Welcome to the Cottage

Nourishing the Body, Stitching the Soul

Hello and welcome!

I’m Tiffany Scott, the hands and heart behind Nourish & Stitches.

I am writing to you from my cottage-style home in Florida (Zone 9b), where the days are spent tending to my garden, caring for my flock of chickens, and creating warmth for my family.

The “Nourish” Journey
My path to wholesome living began in 2010, when a diagnosis of Celiac disease completely changed the way I looked at food. Navigating life as a gluten-free, soy-free eater (with a sensitivity to nightshades!) wasn’t easy at first, but it taught me the incredible value of knowing exactly what goes into our bodies.

Coming from a large family where others also navigate food allergies, I’ve learned that a restrictive diet doesn’t have to mean a restricted life. Today, “nourishment” means cooking meals that bring us together safely.

It also means getting my hands in the dirt as an amateur horticulturist. My green thumb 💚 is truly a gift from my roots—I learned the art of gardening from my parents and grandparents, who taught me how to respect the soil and grow my own ingredients.

The “Stitches” Legacy
When I am not in the kitchen or the garden, you will likely find me with a crochet hook in hand.

I am a fiber artist with nearly four decades of experience—a treasured skill passed down to me by my grandmothers. There is something deeply grounding about the rhythm of the stitches and the ability to turn a simple skein of yarn into something beautiful and useful. Whether I’m designing a new pattern or working on a cozy throw, crafting is my way of slowing down time.

Life at the Cottage
Nourish & Stitches is my way of sharing these traditional skills and simple joys with you. It is a place where we celebrate the beauty of a slow afternoon, the excitement of a new bloom, and the comfort of a handmade home.

You might also spot my dog, Walker, enjoying a tranquil afternoon in the sun while I work!
